I know San Diego has a growing beer community but has anyone been to this event?

November 6th - 15th

San Diego Beer Week. Join some of the regions most interesting and innovative brewers as they celebrate the thriving Southern California beer culture. I have been to similar events in the Orange County area and they have been a lot of fun.

Never attended this specific event, but I assume it is just going to be a festival with a bunch of beer. Can't go wrong there.

Yes, I have been there! Stone Brewery will be there, the makers of Arrogant Bastard Ale and Stone IPA just to name a few. They make outstanding beer! Gordon Biersch will be there too, and a bunch of other local breweries, totally worth going.

I must warn you though, you might not feel so well the next day, and cab is recommended.

I live in Maryland so I won't be making it to San Diego. I am a school teacher but I also work part-time in a beer, wine, and spirits shop. I am the "beer guy" at my shop and have tried every beer we have ever carried. I've tried a bunch of beers from Stone and from the local Gordon Biersch. What else is out there is Southern California for me to try?

Firestone brewery is in Santa Barbara, Anchor Steam Brewery is in San Fran, those are all I can remember though. Firestone is a very good beer. And I love Anchor Steam.
