Thanks folks! It's good to be here.
You guys hang in there, I grew up as an Oilers fan; so you might know the ups and downs we all went through as well. Just remember that we are fortunate to have teams that represent our respective cities. When the Oilers moved to Tennessee and ended-up in the Super Bowl against the St. Louis Rams....we're all like WTF!? It's just the way things go sometimes, but it did seem like a kick in the nads when that happened!
Now we're here with the Texans, and could have gotten into the playoffs as a wild card, but Cincinnati laid-over for the Jets, and we were all hoping for a little revenge with a San Diego win over Rex Ryan's crew.....
'Ol Rex is as "mouthy" as his Dad...Buddy...but he has done a good job putting a fairly good team together. I just think they've been a little lucky. As for the Chargers, they're definitely one of the elite teams in the entire league and if you compare them to the other top teams in the league, well - they went farther than the Patriots, Steelers and Titans should have gone!
My ties with the San Diego area go back before I was born. My Dad and most every uncle were stationed at Coronado Island back in the day. My cousins grew up in Kearney Mesa, then moved out to El Cajon. One of my best friends grew up near Point Loma and after he got married, eventually settled out near Alpine. He used to race professional motocross for Team Honda, and since I race the veterans class out here in Texas, we've been going back and forth between Houston, Phoenix and San Diego - conducting and participating in motocross clinics and vet racing the past several months!
I was out in SoCal over this past Christmas and New Years holidays with them....riding dune buggies and motorcycles out at the Gordon's Well dunes! It was awesome!
See you folks around this forum!
