I run a league in sportsline and it says Shanahan might consider using Bell on goalline situations...

    BEWARE.....if Bell vultures a TD...or 2....trade QG asap..

So I suppose we should trade Duce Staley and Warrick Dunn as well because they have Bettis and Duckett getting goal line carries? A lot of teams have a goal line back that take TD's away from their featured back, but you don't trade them away because of it. They are still solid backs that will get yards and will get their share of TD's from outside the 5.

That was almost a given before the season started. It was between Bell and Hearst. And with Hearst hurt, Bell will get the carries if they are on the 1-3 yard line (sometimes).

Also would not be surprised if both were in the backfield together every once in a while.

It does not mean you should trade Q. He will still get carries in the red zone and score. Barring injury, he will put up very respectable numbers for a #2 fantasy back.

    no....

QG's value after this game will be what it was after the LC game...and if Bell gets only 1 TD ogg QG...then others will look at it as nothing more than that...

when you got Bettis/Duce/Dunn/Duckett...you knew what you were getting...while QG is supposed to be their feature back who OBVIOUSLY gets spelled....and that is encouraged....but to steal goalline carries...that's a whole different situation...and I would want to trade him while his value is still high...

and some teams just happen to spell thei backs at the GL as a coincidence...(see: Edge week 1)....but Shanny is thinking of having Bell or droughns as a designated back at the GL....

I own Griffin and Bell....I want one or the other in most of the time....not both.....and it's ignorant to say trade someone when they lose carries...because every back loses carries....but to be taken out specifically at the GL...it kills you....

QG should end up being a possible #1 back on your team....and Shanahan showed no indication Bell would take over...and still hasn't...he's done worse.....if QG gets 130 yds and Bell gets 1-2 TD's most of the time...you're having 2 backs with the production of one...

there hasn't been any indication of RBBC...and there still isn't....it's just goalline situations....like Mike Anderson sometimes did with Portis...but Bell is more like Portis and QG is more like another stud back....

I personally think this is more of Shanahan's way of slowly moving Bell into the starting lineup as the featured back. I think he is just starting out slow w/ the Bell to get him completely up to NFL speed (basically missed the entire pre-season), by giving him short-yardage situations. The broncos are 2 for 9 on 3rd and 1 thus far this year, and that has been a killer.... so he prob wants to change things up on account of that as well. Plus, Bell just had the pins removed from his hand this week, so he is finanally an assumed 100% for the first time this year.

Shanahan has been waiting patiently to play w/ his new toy, and IMO, is just the first step. Deep inside he has to be pissed at Q for that fumble, even tho he backed him in the media.

everyone seems to be on the Tatum Bell bandwagon....even Domanick Davis cost the texans 2 games with his fumbling....on key late game drives...

Bell fumbles once and I hear alot of people saying he'll be riding the pine soon...

Im not on the Bell bandwagon... rather see Q at the helm for the year. I just think that Shanny is going try and use Bell more often, mainly because he is finnally healthy and not holding out. Hasn't really seen what the guy can do... and you know he was eyeing bell when he made the Portis trade.

ohh definately....I think they made the Portis move because they were going to take Bell and they knew they had QG waiting in the wings already...

not to mention M Anderson as well....

I think Bell will take over next year...if not RBBC....as there will be an open camp for the #1 spot....and I don't consider Shanny a RBBC coach anymore...he prefers his #1 back and a quality #2 in case his #1 goes down...

so in the future...when drafting one of these guys....if both are there...you should definately handcuff the #2 to him

You should probably try to handcuff Griffin now with Bell if you can.

But it really doesn't seem like Shannahan is a big fan of the RBBC thing. He kind of tried it with Anderson and Gary before injuries struck. I agree that there will almost always be a #1 with a good #2.

Shannahan really believes that it is his system that produces 1000 yard backs, not necessarily the back himself. Portis might be the exception to that rule, but Shannahan probably believes he can turn Ron Dayne into a 1300 yard back (just kidding).

On the surfance and without knowing the rest of your team, etc, I think at this stage, Brown is better than Q. But you probably gave up a little too much for Holt. Wayne is on pace to have a really good year as will Chambers.

I had to wait to handcuff him with Bell as the owner drafted Bell shortly after I took Griffin expecting Bell to start....

and when I tried to get Bell...he said he thought Bell would be another TD/Portis type deal...............until he saw game 1 and what QG did...and finally let me have Bell for what I was offering (McGahee)...

my team actually looks pretty strong right now...and I SHOULD be taking home the prize at this rate...

you gave up way too much....especially since Brown is coming off as really injury prone right now....as he's coming off every week with something else hurting each time...
