I am so sick and friggin tired of having my heart ripped out by these jackasses running my beloved Phillies. The last two years to their credit, they've gone out and spent. However, when it comes crunchtime, they don't have the balls to pull out the big moves to put us over the top. Now this year they have the nerve to raise ticket prices but cut payroll....what the fuck? We have a brand new ball park and fans who are just achin for a championship, and they basically bend us over and give it to us and I'm sick of it. Let's think of some of the asshole moves they've made, or not made.

    1. With Marlon Byrd playing like a piece of shit all year last year, the Phillies needed a veteran center fielder to take over and teach Byrd. One name kept coming up over and over: Kenny Lofton. A player who can get on base and get us some leadoff hitting and get us back into the pennant race. Well, trading deadlines comes and goes and Lofton goes postseason again.
1a. In an attempt to right a wrong, our dickhead GM Ed Wade decides, hey, now that the season is over, maybe now is a good time to get Lofton. Oh yeah, and in the process sends off Rodriguez, a promising middle reliever to the Yankees.

    2. We've held on to all of our prospects way too long. Anderson Machado was a promising shortstop who could've been incredible trade bait considering the Phillies said they were building for today, not for the future. Well, long story short, they hold on to him, he has .220 AVG most of the year and now they can't get rid of him. Now they're holding on to Ryan Howard like he's the second coming. You've got Thome and Howard can't play anywhere but 1st, but no let's keep him till he sucks and we can't trade him.

    3. Am I the only one to believe that Ed Wade couldn't have put a better package together to get Tim Hudson than the Braves did. Or better than St.Louis did for Mulder.

    4. This really ticks me off here. The best pitcher on the market was Pavano. Last year in arbitration, the Phillies offered Kevin Millwood 11mil. He of course signed and stole money most of the year. However, he's gone now, and a pitcher, who is younger and possess much more talent, Carl Pavano, signs with the Yankees for 10mil b/c the god damn Phillies wouldn't shell out a little more for him when they just got done over paying for that stiff Dillwood.

I can go on all night about this, but you get my points I hope, I just wanna know, who else is with me that the Phillies need to be sold to an owner who genuinely wants to win and will hire a GM who will do what it takes to win the great sports town a World Series.

Im with you man. Our whole front office sux, instead of gettin jack mckeon we get charlie manuel that don't make sense to me. And instead of goin after somebody like podsednik or carl crawford we get kenny lofton who'se gonna retire sooner or later. The only thing we did was get jon lieber instead of goin after pavano or derek lowe or someone like that.

Lowe and Millwood are the same, Lieber is a much better pitcher than both day in and day out. Holding on to prospects does much more good than bad, teams with home grown talent are much better off. At least the front office wants to win now, the spending isn't their decision.

They don't need a pitcher they need a hitter... they need some defense... the last thing they need to worry about is the staff.

I'm not so sure about your post... If you hate the phillies so much, you might as well join the Braves bandwagon.

No one wants to join the Braves bandwagon...If I were a Brave fan, I'd be more upset only winning one championship over the past 15 years in a row the Braves won the division.

However, yes the Phils front office is making moves at the wrong time, or bad moves all toeghther. There is no doubt in my mind we couldn't get Hudson or Mulder by trading Floyd or other young guns. Really blows..

We have decent enough hitters. Thome had a sub par season AVG wise, but it happens. Abreu is good. Burrell seems to be fixing his swing and will be better. And Bell did what he was supposed to. Plus Chase Utley and Rollins had decent seasons. Their staff WAS the problem last year. Brett Myers was disappointing overall, incredibly inconsistent. Randy Wolf had his worst season since becoming a starter, Padilla was hurt and inconsistent. Then you have Milton who had a great record, but his ERA was terrible and Millwood was stealing money last year.

We needed starting pitching so we got John Lieber, which is nice, but we let Pavano go when we just got done paying more to Millwood who sucks. Pavano is making a million less now with the yanks than what we paid Millwood last season.

My biggest disappointment is that we never even try getting these guys. Pavano, Hudson, Mulder, Lowe, Martinez.....even hitters like Beltran, Ordonez, etc..... we make no attempt on. This team will go nowhere as long as this ownership and front office is in place.
